Conservation South Luangwa

The Foundation supports Conservation South Luangwa (CSL) in its vital work to protect the wildlife and habitats of the South Luangwa ecosystem. Working with Zambia’s Department of National Parks and Wildlife (DNPW), CSL focuses on anti-poaching patrols, wildlife rescue, human-wildlife conflict mitigation, and community engagement.

Increased human pressure, poverty, and the absence of land use zoning have led to widespread snaring and illegal hunting, often for markets outside the region. Habitat loss from encroachment and agriculture further threatens biodiversity. CSL addresses these issues through awareness programs, alternative livelihood promotion, and the operation of a community veterinary clinic to reduce disease risks between domestic animals and wildlife.
