Kafue Wild Trail Run

In 2024, Green Safaris Conservation Foundation joined a new and memorable initiative: the Kafue Wild Run. Organized by African Parks, this annual trail run takes place in the heart of Kafue National Park – one of Africa’s largest and most diverse wilderness areas.

With over 300 participants, the event brings together conservationists, athletes, and nature lovers for a physically challenging but deeply rewarding experience.

“It was hard…but epic!” says Green Safaris founder and managing director, Vincent Kouwenhoven, who joined our fantastic guides and lodge managers on the trail.
This event was more than just a fitness challenge; it was a chance to support the dedicated rangers protecting Zambia’s wildlife and showcase the breathtaking Kafue National Park, home to Ila Safari Lodge and Chisa Busanga Camp. More than just a run, the Kafue Wild Run raises dedicated funds for conservation, directly supporting the protection of the park’s wildlife and ecosystems. Green Safaris Conservation Foundation will continue to sponsor the Kafue Wild Trail Run during the 2025 edition.
